Dr. Weldon M. McWilliams IV, Senior Pastor

Believing that he was called in early childhood, Dr. Weldon McWilliams IV finally accepted his call into the ministry at the age of 27 in May of 2007. Dr. Weldon McWilliams IV received his license to preach the gospel in October of 2008 and has now dedicated his life to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and preparing God's people for the Kingdom. Dr. Weldon McWilliams IV believes that in order to carry out the work of Jesus Christ, one must be active inside and outside the church, and that the fight for justice is an integral component of one's Christian duty.

In May of 2010 Dr. Weldon McWilliams IV received his Ph.D. from the Department of African American Studies at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He is currently an Assistant Professor of History at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Dutchess Community College located in Poughkeepsie, NY, where he teaches United States History, United States Government and African-American History.

Dr. Weldon McWilliams IV was ordained May 15, 2011 at the Yeshuwa Temple of Praise, by his Pastor, Bishop Melvin Brown in Philadelphia, PA; thus, continuing a family tradition and establishing the 4th generational line of ordained ministers (father, both grand-fathers and paternal great-grandfather were all ordained and pastors).

Dr. Weldon McWilliams IV served as an Associate Minister of the First Baptist Church of Spring Valley, NY for 6 years where his father, Rev. Weldon McWilliams Jr. has been pastoring since 1972. Dr. Weldon McWilliams IV was and still is very active in the Rockland County community. He was a member of the Rockland Minsters Alliance and a founding member of Rockland County Clergy for Social Justice, which is still on the forefront of the fight on behalf of the public school students of East Ramapo Central School District in Rockland County. Dr. Weldon McWilliams IV is also a founding member of the Black Lives Matter Lower Hudson Valley Chapter.

December 11, 2017, Dr. Weldon McWilliams IV was voted in as Pastor-Elect of the Christ Temple Baptist Church of Paterson, NJ where he continues to teach and preach GOD's word. On May 20, 2018, Dr. Weldon McWilliams IV was officially installed as the 3rd pastor of Christ Temple Baptist Church. Since his arrival we have seen an increase in membership and in attendance of church programs, such as Bible Study and Prayer Meeting. We look forward to and anticipate God's blessing on this marriage between Pastor McWilliams and the Christ Temple Baptist Church.
